About Me: Robert Hughey, MFA
I write, teach, and tinker at the crossroads of myth and modern life. Most days I’m translating the ineffable into something you can hold in your hands—an essay, a ritual, a story, a laugh that somehow heals.
My work is less about being “ascended” and more about learning how to stay here—awake, kind, curious—while the world keeps turning. The apprentice part never ends.

People find me when they’re trying to remember something they can’t name. I help them listen for it. Whether I’m guiding a meditation, polishing a passage, or laughing through a moment of doubt, my aim is simple: to make light practical again.
Outside the page, I’m a professor, an editor, and a quiet conspirator for beauty in unlikely places. I believe humor is medicine, love is architecture, and that good art—like good magic—leaves everyone a little freer.
